Microsoft’s 2016 gameplan


Your voice is the future. At today’s Build developers conference, Microsoft announced plans to expand the abilities of Cortana, its Siri-like voice assistant. New "bots" — essentially mini editions of Cortana — are available for developers to tweak, train, and integrate into their own apps, so you’ll get voice control for ordering food, managing your calendar, or whatever else you’re doing in those apps. And you’re not limited to Web and apps: the bots will work in SMS texting, too.
